The catch? The dear children. It can be tough for them to live out their urge to move and be active in the cramped area on the back seat.

Creativity in the back seat
The good thing about traveling by car? You have enough storage space. Pack a small painting case for your children. A couple of pens, coloring books, a drawing board – that’s all you need!
Reading hour
Books are also a perfect distraction. Smaller children like to read aloud, bigger ones read themselves. If you get sick while driving, you can refer to audio books and podcasts!
Picnic and stopovers
Plan a few breaks in advance on longer car journeys. But that doesn’t necessarily have to be the case with the ugly rest stop. Also, look for a lake or a beautiful meadow along the way. The children can stretch their legs a bit and don’t crumble the whole car while having a snack. And for the adults, it feels like the first vacation stop and not like a forced break. Perhaps there are even sights on the route that you’ve always wanted to visit.
